*Kaz* The Singer And The Actress

[Melody Valentine]

Melody was singing her first ever song. It was called Babysitter. It was the first song she had ever sung and written, and people liked it, or she hoped they did. She finished with a strum of her guitar strings, and there was some applause. Then, Melody went to sit down to watch the actors and actresses in the show. She was excited; she'd never done anything like this before. Melody settled her guitar next to her and watched intently as everyone began to come onto the stage to do their scenes. Melody made a note to watch this show once it had aired. She knew she'd love to have the memories.

[Karen 'Kaz' McKay]

Karen was already in the middle of a full on emotional scene. Amy's (her character in the story) husband was dead and about to be erased from time and Karen acted like she had never acted before.

"No! We can't leave him! Doctor, no!" she yelled as she got dragged away from the body.

"And cut! Karen, Matt, that was fantastic! Especially you, Karen. My heart stopped," the director exclaimed excitedly. Kaz laughed.

"Just make sure the camera was rolling, yeah?" Karen joked and the director laughed before shouting out an order for the cast and crew.

"Lunch break, everyone! Then we'll have to do it again for technical reasons. Sorry, McKay," he winked at Karen before walking off to do god knows what. Director-y things.

"Sandwich time!" Karen said as she picked at the lunch table. "Oooh, crisps! We don't usually get treated to crisps." She said, impressed look on her face before smiling and biting into an apple.

[Melody Valentine]

Melody watched, amazed. She was really good...Karen McKay. She had been a model before. She still was, just not as much, Melody remembered. So when she went for lunch, Melody absolutely had to compliment her on her acting. She followed the stars to where they went for lunch, then tapped Karen's shoulder. "Excuse me? Sorry, I'm Melody Valentine, I was singing earlier and after I saw you acting. I just came to say that you were amazing!" she said to Karen. She looked around the lunch room at all the other actors and actresses. It was great to see them in the flesh but she wasn't going to freak out like a fan girl, despite wanting to. She turned her attention back to Karen.

Karen practically glowed. "Aw, that is so sweet! Thank you!" It really meant a lot to her that this girl would go through all the trouble just to tell her that. "Wait, you're Melody Valentine, the singer yeah? Steven told me they were getting a singer to do some... Well, singing."

[Melody Valentine]

Melody nodded, smiling brightly. She then giggled. "Yeah. When he asked me though, I was just..really excited. I felt kind of important, really..I've never sung in a show before." Melody admitted. "Oh well, first time for everything." and there was her bright smile again. After all, Melody was very cheery and she thought anything was possible.

"Well, it's my first time acting in such a massive role, so I understand, don't worry," Karen said, biting into the apple again. "But I've heard you sing and you've got nothing to worry about." Karen winked.

Melody blushed. "You think so? Thanks! Though I'm not as talented a singer as you are an actress." she complimented, and it was true; she thought Kaz was amazing, truly. Herself, on the other hand...eh, not so amazing in other words.

"I will shamelessly accept the compliment," Karen joked before giving Melody a stern look, "But don't think like that. It doesn't help to compare yourself to other people when you're as brilliant as you are."
