Museums were brilliant. Being one of the few homeless people who could read, Amy could enjoy more than just the shelter that the massive building provided. Sometimes, Amy pretended that if she spent enough time learning about the items and history in the museums, she would be able to get a job and not live on the street. Although she did technically have a job as part of the homeless network. Still, she did want to have a larger income so she could get a house and actually live somewhere, rather than on the street.
Today, Amy was in the Natural History museum, one of her favirotes, because it was the largest. She also liked the dinosaur section, it was amazing. The big T-Rex used to scare her so much. But things were better now, she understood it and at times she had explained things about it. Once, someone had thought that she was incredibly clever. Today, she was hoping to get back into the dinosaur section, but it usually had a large que and today was no exception. Amy sighed, as she waited to get in.

Carly loved museums. They were so fascinating! She was pondering to herself about if she, Freddie and Sam should have an iCarly museum. That would be awesome. But for now, Carly was going to enjoy the National Museum. She liked the dinosaur section but she knew it would be packed. So she joined the queue. She hadn't noticed the younger girl as Carly had been near the front, but some guys came and shoved in front of her and Carly ended up behind the girl. Carly glared at the guys and sighed, shaking her head.
"Typical impatient guys." she muttered, her American accent present and sure. As some went to go in front of the little girl, though, Carly glared at them and gave them a little push. "Hey, lay off! She's earned her place, just go behind us already!" she snapped, and the guys just glared and joined the back of the queue. Carly turned to the girl. "Are you alright? They didn't hurt you, did they?" she checked, biting her lip. People like that are such jerks, Carly thought to herself as she heard them arguing with some people down the back of the queue.

Amy was quite as she waited in the que, she was used to waiting, and this was certainly better than staying outside. It was cold and raining lost time she checked. Still, she wondered why people often felt the need to shove into the line. To be honest, it didn't happen that often, but the que most likely to attract that sort of crowd was the dinosaur section. Amy watched as an older girl got shoved behind her and the young girl looked up with sympathy. "Typical impatient guys." "You can go infront of me, if you want." She replied. The stranger appeared to be American. She probably hadn't seen the exhibit before and Amy was fine with waiting.
Just then, someone else tried to push ionfront, and Amy noticed that he had been talking to one of the other guys who had pushed in. It seemed like they were just trying to cause chaos. "Hey, lay off! She's earned her place, just go behind us already!" Amy looked up, giving a smile. Not many people noticed her or cared about her. Even Sherlock Holmes, who was techniqually her employer didn't really seem to care that much. "Thanks." She said softly.
"Are you alright? They didn't hurt you, did they?" Amy shook her head. "No, they wouldn't be able to." She replied. Amy had to cope with living on the streets, she was quite tough, despite being young and small, as well as a lack of food. "Its a group of friends trying to cause some trouble, I think." She said, in her cockney accent. Often, Amy tried to get a normal common accent like the more common people, but it wasn't very easy for her to try and learn. "You okay, Miss?"

"You can go infront of me, if you want." "Nah, that's okay, I don't mind waiting." Carly replied with a smile at the younger girl. When the younger girl thanked Carly, Carly just smiled again at her. "Thanks. No, they wouldn't be able to. It's a group of friends trying to cause trouble, I think.""No problem, I'm glad they didn't hurt you, anyway. And yeah, guys like that are always trying to cause trouble. Why they are looking at a museum though I can't understand." Carly pondered on that for a moment. She was brought out of her thoughts when the girl spoke again.|You okay, Miss?" Carly was mildly surprised when the girl call her 'Miss.' Carly smiled.
"Please, call me Carly. And yeah, I'm okay. Back in America things like that happened a lot, so I suppose you could say I'm used to it by now." she said, smiling down at the girl. "What's your name?" she asked, realizing the girl hadn't mentioned. Carly glanced outside and rolled her eyes when she saw it was raining. That barely ever happened in Seattle, where she used to live. It wasn't like it never did, but England was so different from America. Carly loved it here, sure, but it was very different.

"Nah, that's okay, I don't mind waiting." Amy looked up curiously at the older girl and shook hre head slightly. "You sure, Miss? You've been waiting longer than me, and I get a chance to come in as often as I please. You're from America." Amy said. Although she had no idea where America was or exactly what it was, Amy knew that it was a long journey to America from England anc vice versa. "No problem, I'm glad they didn't hurt you, anyway. And yeah, guys like that are always trying to cause trouble. Why they are looking at a museum though I can't understand."
"They like the dinosaurs. They don't find anything else interesting. You get a lot of people coming here just for the dinosaurs. I guess they just wanted to add in another thing to do." She commented. Amy did try to follow the methods of Sherlock, it was a good way to get some money in the homeless network. But it was not easy. As far as Amy knew, no one had managed it. She thought it might just be something that only Sherlock Holmes had.
"Please, call me Carly. And yeah, I'm okay. Back in America things like that happened a lot, so I suppose you could say I'm used to it by now." Amy gave a smile. "Then I msut say that you are unfortunate, because we don't have people like that too often." Amy replied, with a grin. "If you want I can give you a sort of tour to make up for it. I know the museum quite well and the dinosaurs are a personal favirote of mine." Carly. That was an unusual name, but maybe it was common in America.
"What's your name?" "I'm Amy." She replied, holding her hand out to shake. It wasn't that dirty. Having met with a nice woman called Kaz, Amy had the chance to have a shower and she was trying to keep clean. It was easier to get into warm places if she were clean. So luckily her hand wasn't too dirty, otherwise Amy would have taken it back and appologised for the state of it, as it was, Amy did decide to let Carly know that she didn't have to shake hands. "You don't need to shake hands, though." She replied nervously.

"Yes, I'm sure." Carly replied, smiling. As the girl suggested a tour to make up for it, Carly thought about it and then nodded, "Okay, sure, a tour would be nice!" Carly agreed. This girl seemed smart, but Carly didn't mind whether she was or wasn't; Carly wasn't one to judge on appearances or if they are smart or not.
When the girl held out her hand and introduced herself as Amy, Carly shook it. When the girl said, however, that Carly didn't have to shake it, Carly frowned. "Why wouldn't I? It's a basic greeting for when you meet people. Plus it's polite. There isn't any reason I shouldn't, is there?" Carly asked. She was a bit inquisitive at times, so Carly hoped the girl wouldn't mind her asking all those questions.
Carly's phone began to ring, so she picked it up and put it to her ear. "Sam, not now, I'm in a queue to get into the dinosaur section of the National Museum. What? You got a job? Huh, how? Okay, you know what, never mind, I'll talk to you later. No, you can't break Freddie's arm. Because being mean to him doesn't help iCarly! Later." Carly rolled her eyes and hung up, putting her phone back into her pocket and turning her attention back to the girl with a smile.

"Yes, I'm sure." Amy nodded and gave a shrug. The boys seemed to have calmed down by now, although Amy suspected that was because someone had gone to tell one of the attendants who was no walking over to the boys, who tried to act as if nothing happened. "Okay, sure, a tour would be nice!" "Okay, do you just want a dinosaur tour, or also of other parts of the museum, although the whole museum would take more than a few days. Did you know the diplodocus is actually a modle of several different dinosaurs and is called Dippy?" Amy said.
"Why wouldn't I? It's a basic greeting for when you meet people. Plus it's polite. There isn't any reason I shouldn't, is there?" Amy gave a little smile but it fadded. "My hand ain't so clean, and not many people feel the need to shake hands with someone like me." She shrugged. She really wasn't that bothered by it. "And I don't really want anyone feeling guilty if they don't want to shake hands." She added. Usually that was the main reason.
"Sam, not now, I'm in a queue to get into the dinosaur section of the National Museum. What? You got a job? Huh, how? Okay, you know what, never mind, I'll talk to you later. No, you can't break Freddie's arm. Because being mean to him doesn't help iCarly! Later." Amy politely ignored the phone conversation and pointed out the boys to the museum attendent who had come forwards to ask her about the boys, then he walked on to talk to them. Then they were taken away. Amy gave a small smile. "Seems like justioce is getting quicker." She commented as Carly finished her mobile conversation.

Carly thought about that, then shrugged. "Just the dinosaurs for now, I think." she replied. When Amy talked about her hand being not so clean, it dawned on Carly; Amy was a street child. Carly wasn't disgusted, she just felt sorry for Amy. Carly tilted her head at Amy, considering, then she spoke.
"Do you want to come back to my place after this and take a shower or something? I've also got some things there you might want to see, only if you want of course." Carly said, after thinking a little. "And anyone feeling guilty of not wanting to shake your hand are just judging people, you should just ignore them." Carly said. She was disgusted now; only not about Amy, about the way people treated others who didn't have homes. It was sick how they treated them like they were invisible.
As Amy spoke again, Carly smiled softly and watched the guy go over to the boys who had been making trouble. "They got what they deserved, didn't they?" she said, chuckling softly. And then she realized that they were inside now. "We're in, finally!" Carly smiled. She figured time passed quicker when you talked to somebody or if you were doing something fun, even just doing something in general.

"Just the dinosaurs for now, I think." Amy nodded. "That's a good idea. Dinosaurs are the most popular and I certainly find them very very interesting." Amy replied. Sometimes she managed to visit the dinosaurs as often as once every month, although that wasn't too easy. "Some of the best times to visit the dinosaurs is just as the museum is closing, you know, last half an hour or something like that. The crowds really die down then." Amy replied.
"Do you want to come back to my place after this and take a shower or something? I've also got some things there you might want to see, only if you want of course." Thad did sound nice and Amy nodded. "I'd love to, but only if it isn't a strain on you." She replied. She hated being a weight on people's or society's shoulders. That's why she never went into those care homes and instead tried to make her own living. But a bit of help never went astray and Amy did enjoy talking to others. "And anyone feeling guilty of not wanting to shake your hand are just judging people, you should just ignore them."
Amy nodded, although she doubted that she would ever just ignore them. She would always give them the option and try to remember how dirty she was and whether they would want to shake hands with an urchin like her. "They got what they deserved, didn't they?" Amy nodded. "London is trying to get more on top of problems and that stuff. Its never easy, though." She replied, remembering that she was neglecting her job of looking out for criminals just so she could get some warmth and fun.
"We're in, finally!" Amy grinned. "Well, first there's the sky walk, where she get to look at things from above." She said, pointing out to the stairs and the massive que of people waiting to see the moving dinosaurs. "That's always very popular. After it, people just disappear somewhere else, often. Buts its always worth the cues." She replied.

"Yeah, it is, but I have an iCarly webcast to do tonight so I came earlier to see them. And no, it's no problem for us at all. Though you might want to be careful about my brother, Spencer. He isn't horrible or anything he's just a bit...well, he isn't normal. Spencer does a lot of art so there are always odd things around our flat." Carly explained with a smile.
"There are quite a few criminals in London, huh? There wasn't many in Seattle, but if there were criminals they would just do extra bad things. It was extremely hard to catch them, so I imagine it's the same over here." she nodded. Carly hated thinking about criminals; it made her think of being robbed once in her old flat in America. That had been horrible. At least they got their laptop and TV back, though.
"Shall we do the sky walk first, then? Or would you rather see something else? It's all up to you, little tour guide." Carly joked, smiling. She looked around the place, admiring it as she always did when she was here.

He isn't horrible or anything he's just a bit...well, he isn't normal. Spencer does a lot of art so there are always odd things around our flat." Amy blinked. "ICarly? What is that?" She asked, it confused her. "Is it something to do with you?" After all, it did have Carly's name in it, but it still didn't make sense.
"And I'm good with not normal people. You get a lot of those." Amy said. She had to cope with other homeless people, crinimals and at times, Sherlock. None of them were normal and Amy doubted that she was either. She read books, she enjoyed Lord of the Rings, she wanted to work in the museums. Generally people were just inclined to stay the way that there were. "There are quite a few criminals in London, huh? There wasn't many in Seattle, but if there were criminals they would just do extra bad things. It was extremely hard to catch them, so I imagine it's the same over here."
"Really depends on what you view as criminal. Plenty of theives, always warned against them." Amy said. In the past, she ahd stolen wallets before. Only when she was starving, and just to get some money to keep going, then she would hand the wallet and rest of the money in to the police. Not getting any reward, of course. She didn't deserve that. But she liked it when people were happy with getting most of their money back.
"Shall we do the sky walk first, then? Or would you rather see something else? It's all up to you, little tour guide." "If we left the cue now, we probably wouldn't be able to get back into the cue for the sky walk." Amy commented. "So we should do it first. You know, the cue doesn't even go down at lunch times." She laughed. often, the young girl found that fact slightly amusing.

Duh, Carly, this girl had probably never seen iCarly! "It's a web show that I do with Freddie and Sam, my friends. It's on every week." Carly explained, smiling. She glanced around at everyone here, trying to work out why people could be here. Carly loved doing things like that. As she saw one old woman arguing with a guy with glasses Carly managed to stop herself giggling. Some old ladies always had arguments with other younger people. Mostly only because they were so old fashioned and weren't used to the modern world. Sometimes their arguments were about that. It was stupid and idiotic.
"Good to know. But you don't have to worry, I'm pretty normal so that's only one of us you have to deal with. Though Sam can be pretty aggressive so you'll have to be careful to not insult her." Carly warned. Then she smiled and nodded."Okay, we'll do that first then. But it is rather crazy that at lunch time the queue doesn't budge at all. People love seeing all the museum stuff so maybe they come prepared with a packed lunch or something. That would make sense." Carly mused. She herself had also brought a lunch in her bag but that wasn't the point. It was logical to do it, anyway.

"It's a web show that I do with Freddie and Sam, my friends. It's on every week." Amy paused and frowned. "Wait, what is a web show?" As they walked through the Sky Walk, Amy pointed out different things. She loved teaching others and people kept listening in as she rambled on about different things about each different types of dinosaurs that they saw. Then, as the electronic raptors came into view, she nudged Carly and pointed to them. "Look! They even blink!" She exclaimed happily as they came into view. Soon it would be the T-Rex.
"Good to know. But you don't have to worry, I'm pretty normal so that's only one of us you have to deal with. Though Sam can be pretty aggressive so you'll have to be careful to not insult her." "Noted." Amy replied. She didn't like to annoy people anyway. It was the main way of getting money, apart from her work. Being nice to people. "Okay, we'll do that first then. But it is rather crazy that at lunch time the queue doesn't budge at all. People love seeing all the museum stuff so maybe they come prepared with a packed lunch or something. That would make sense." Amy nodded. "They have very expensive food in the museum as well. And aparently it isn't good. Although I don't see why the people think that." Amy replied.
