Name: Sherlock Holmes
Age: 35
Job/Occupation: Consulting Detective
Appearance: Sherlock is rather tall in height. He has pale skin, which contrasts with his dark black hair. His hair is curly and longer than most other males. Sherlock's eyes are a light blue, and often described as icy or cold. His gaze often flickers around to different objects and features when he is in a new place or meeting people (even if he has met them before and time has gone past). Sherlock has high cheek bones and a strong jaw structure. Generally, he wears a shirt (generally black or purple) with a black jacket, black trousers, a scarf and a heavy black coat.
Personality: Sherlock would describe himself as a high functioning sociopath and a show-off, although other people are more likely to refer to him as a psychopath and arrogant. He also says that he has no friend, apart from one; John Watson. Sherlock is often a cold character, not letting many emotions show (although they do sometimes appear, such as when his friends (John, Lestrade and Mrs Hudson) are threatened or when there is a conflict within him, regarding whether he can believe what his mind tells him).
Sherlock views other people as stupid, due to the fact that they do not see what he can. He also needs things to solve, otherwise he becomes bored and it seems that his mind is out of control. One of Sherlock's beliefs is that unimportant information, such as the solar system should be deleted from his memory as there is only a limited amount of space in the human mind. Sherlock also believes himself to be the best, as stated by Irene Adler and also suggested by the fact that he has a Mind Palace, when it could just be a house or street.
History: Sherlock has been interested in crime for a long time and his deduction skills have also been around for a while. During childhood, his seven year old brother, Mycroft, also had the power of deduction and this helped to influenced Sherlock into the deducing character that is seen in the modern time. However, Mycroft has always been better at deduction than Sherlock, something the young boy found infuriating, especially seeing as Mycroft did not seem to do much about it. It lead to a large sibling rivalry, which has lasted, even to recent times.
During school, Sherlock did not often attempt to work with the social norm, seeing as others often found him strange due to the fact that he could easily deduce their life story and even some future things (like friendship problems). This lead to him being vastly unpopular and having problems with school bullies. it was during this point that he started learning martial arts and other forms of self defense and fighting, that were also useful for later life. During his SATs, Sherlock very well, however GCSE was rather different. His Chemistry, Biology, Geography, Citizenship and Maths were exceptional. His English was average and his Physics was dreadful.
At college, Sherlock studied Chemistry and Biology, finishing in his first year and then working on a forensics diploma for the next year. This was exceptionally quick for a student to work and to get good grades. However, he did not go to University and instead started work in London as a consulting detective. However, due to being new and not many people going on his site (the Science of Deduction), Sherlock was often bored and turned to other forms of recreation. However, he cleaned up his act when he received help from the police, meaning that they allowed him to help at crime scenes. He had met Lestrade during a difficult case and Sherlock had sneaked onto the crime scene.
During his time working with the police, Sherlock met Molly, a pathologist, who has feelings for Sherlock, but he does not return them. However, he uses her feelings to help him get access to the morgue. During his work there, he met Stamford, who later introduced John to Sherlock. When John did meet Sherlock, a new case occurred and they solved it, John then moving into the flat with Sherlock. John put the case up on his blog, and Sherlock is always confused as to why more people read John's blog. However, John's Blog does bring more clients and John isn't that annoying, so Sherlock doesn't really mind too much.
It was during another of Sherlock's cased (this time brought to him by Mycroft), when he met Irene Adler. Her character is more of a mystery to him, as he cannot deduce much about her (especially during their first meeting). During this time, he found out that Irene has feelings for him, which he did not look to lightly upon, however seeing as her character is one that could defeat him in intelligence, he acknowledges that, which is not a common action of the sleuth. As the cases have gone on, Sherlock has found that he views several people as friends and he is incredibly loyal to them. It was this that Moriaty used to force Sherlock to jump off St. Batholomew's.
Anything else: I have played two other Sherlock based characters on other sites (although not the famous sleuth himself) and I would be interested in my site and this site becoming sister sites.
RP Sample: Dull! There was nothing happen. No interesting criminals running about London. Where were they? One would think that within the capital of Britain one could find some decent case to solve. But it appeared that was not the case. Sherlock sat at his computer, fingers tapping the wooden table impatiently as he stared at the grey and blue themes site that would hopefully pop up with a new and interesting email. Hitting the refresh button in one quick movement, his blue eyes flickered over the whole page, taking in the fact that there was no change after it had reloaded. Why did so few people contact him.
Giving a dramatic sigh, Sherlock got up, and walked over to his violin, looking over at the instrument, wondering if he could relieve the boredom by playing that. "Any news on your blog about something new and preferably interesting?" Sherlock asked John. The reply seemed to be a 'no', although he wasn't certain? Was John out? It didn't really matter. The answer would probably be no so he'd leave it at that. Picking up the violin, the world's only Consulting Detective plucked at the strings, mindlessly, leaving the bow for now.
After a few seconds, he picked up the bow and played a few tunes. Nope, still bored. Placing the instrument gently back in its case and closing it, Sherlock moved over to the sofa and collapsed onto it, stretching out on the piece of furniture. If someone didn't come along soon and offer him a case he was going to go find John's gun, which was locked up in a draw in John's room and get another smiley face on the wall. Or maybe a sad face. At least that would be something to do. Tapping his fingers restlessly, Sherlock got up, once again, and walked over to the computer to check his emails. Apparently John was visiting his sister and this email was to notify him as he probably hadn't been paying attention when John had left. But no cases. Boring.
