Molly rolled her eyes up to the ceiling and walked down the corridor, towards the labs. She had a lot to do today but how to get it all done before her shift ended was the matter of problem. Shrugging this off, Molly walked more briskly. The faster she got to the lab the better. She checked her clipboard and then gave a sigh. Honestly, the things she did to help people... Molly entered the lab and set to work, putting her clipboard somewhere she could still unfortunately see the list of what she had to do. Carefully, she took a phial with a sample of blood out of her pocket, and began to analyze it.

He needed the lab again today. Aparently it wasn't too good doing scientific experiments in the house. Neither John or Mrs Hudson enjoyed it. And apparently the kicthen table was not a place to do that. Another thing that was not to be done in the kitchen was anything that gave off sulphur or used it. So he had been bannished to go to the lab to conduct the experiments. Which would mean meeting molly, it was at this time that she would be in the lab, but that was no problem at all. Despite the problems with sulphur, the experiments today wouldn't involve it. He wanted to get more efficient ways of testing for blood stains. Such as blood stains on iron.
Pausing outside the lab, Sherlock opened the door and slipped in, his icy blue eyes taking in Molly, looking at the clipboard before taking a sample of blood out of her pocket. "Morning Molly. Mind if I use the lab?" Sherlock asked politely, before moving over to look at the chemicles, searching for the kind that he would need for this experiment. "You don't have any spare blood, do you?" Sherlock questioned, although he was fine with donating a few drops of his own for science.

Molly examined the blood curiously, waiting for the results to come out from the machine, and then she heard Sherlock's voice. "Morning Molly. Mind if I use the lab?" "Morning, Sherlock. No, not at all." she said, turning to give him a smile. She watched him for a moment, then turned back to the machine to take the results out. "You don't have any spare blood, do you?" "Yeah, hold on." Molly put the results and the blood she was holding down, and handed some spare in a different phial to Sherlock. She put the blood she was using on a stand for now, and examined the results. Her eyes widened, but she didn't say anything.

"Morning, Sherlock. No, not at all." The reply had come to Sherlock as no surprise. Molly often complied with Sherlock's wishes. In fact, there hadn't been a time that she had refused to help. Looking briefly at Molly, he noticed her smile. She did a lot of that. It was interesting. His gaze turned back to the chemicles, examing each one carefully. He needed something that would react with blood. Maybe something that reacted with heamogoblin. Or white blood cells. That would work.
"Yeah, hold on." Sherlock turned back to look at Molly. It was always useful not having to donate one's own blood to science. if he were at home, he'd almost certainly have to. Aparently keeping body parts and blood in the fridge was another thing that he was not allowed to do. Sometimes humans could be so boring. Taking the phial gently, Sherlock examined the blood and then put it down, carefully. Then, he took out some test tubs and two racks. Taking some chemicles, he combined them in exact quantities using a measuring cylinder and let the reaction take place. Then, he refined the mixture.
Next, Sherlock managed to get some iron, he tested the chemicle with water, some other chemicles, then the blood. Next he tested it with the iron. Then, he combined some of the blood and iron together and tested it. So far, it was working. taking some iron fillings, Sherlock dipped it in the blood, and then took it out, placing it on a paper towl to dry. While it was drying, he started making notes, not paying any attention to Molly was he worked. It wasn't on purpose, the detective just became incredibly focused on his work.

Molly, out of the corner of her eye, watched Sherlock work, and couldn't help smiling again. He was always so focused. Her eyes flickered back to the test results and she swallowed. She rested them down, then rubbed her forehead. How exactly she was going to explain the death of someone close to the couple upstairs was beyond her. She'd need time to think that one over, and make sure that she said it ever so delicately. Hopefully, if they cried, then Molly wouldn't have to comfort them, but she would if that was necessary. If this had happened to her, how would she want someone to say it? Molly pondered on that for a moment.

Sherlock wasn't paying too much attention to Molly as he worked. His attention focusing now on the blood coated iron. Dropping it into the chemicle and he noticed that nothing changed. Frowning, he shook it slightly. Nothing. Next to his notes, he put a 'negative' and then started to tidy up that experiment. Getting some more chemicles, he was just about to start another reaction to get what he needed when he noticed that Molly was rubbing her forehead, resting instead of working. It looked like she was possibly facing a problem in her work.
Sherlock turned to look at the chemicles and started to create a new solution. While he worked, he realised that Molly had been a help before his death. He had needed her. Maybe he could offer help and it should be on the subject of science. "Do you need any help?" Sherlock asked after a long pause, not sure about whether it was a good idea to offer his help. There wasn't much that he could do to help. Molly was efficent at her job. But a second opinion was always good with work. John helped with that. Only mainly for someone to Sherlock too talk to.

Molly took the DNA results again, now having a few serious problems with words. She thought a bit more, and her eyes absently strayed over to the blood she had used, and then all around the lab. For some reason she saw this as inspiration. She glanced at what Sherlock was working on for a moment, then back at the DNA results. Molly looked up as Sherlock spoke. "Do you need any help?" Molly shook her head. "No, I think I'll be okay, thank you." she gave him a wan smile, then went over to her clipboard and ticked off the first thing on it. She looked at the next thing. Test the new chemicals. Why? Molly thought, but she didn't speak aloud. Instead, she shrugged, went over to the new chemicals and set to work testing them, mixing them with others and making notes of the results.

Sherlock paused, waiting for Molly's reply, his hands ready to start working on his next set of chemicles to test. Previously he had been testing for reactions with whiteblood cells being present, now he was working with heamoglobin. This might proove to lead to the results he wanted, or it might proove to be another dead end. "No, I think I'll be okay, thank you." That was a good answer, it meant that Sherlock could continue his work. He caught her smile as he returned to his work, but he did not smile back, he was already focused on his work.
Combining some more chemicles, removing the gasses, combining them to create a liquid, which condensed on the side of a flask. Then, he tested out the new compound that he had created, at first it was no good, but precipitation did happen when there was dried blood on iron. Still, he needed something that would work universally. This was not so. Putting away that experiment and getting out a new one, Sherlock's mind briefly returned to Molly. It was quite possible that he needed to thank her for her help. But he wasn't quite sure how to.
After another experiment, that didn't work, and clearing that up, an idea came to Sherlock's head. It was nearing lunch time, didn't most people eat during lunch. Mrs Hudson had told him that he should eat at close to midday. "Molly," Sherlock started, uncomfortable with admitting that he had been helped and needed to repay the favour. "You've helped me out a lot, when I needed to disappear. Thank you. Do you want me to take you to lunch?" Sherlock asked, not sure if this was a good way to thank her, but it was the only way that came to mind.

Molly continued the work she was doing, but within a few moments she was done. It didn't take spectacularly long to test the new chemicals as Molly was quite good at science. She cleared up all her mess and checked it off on her clipboard. "Molly," Molly looked up at Sherlock as he spoke. "Yeah?" "You've helped me out a lot, when I needed to disappear. Thank you. Do you want me to take you to lunch?" Molly listened to him, and smiled. "That would be nice." she replied. "Thanks."

Sherlock's icy blue gaze watched Molly as he waited for a reply. "That would be nice." So that meant that he would have to leave his work. But he did owe Molly something nice after all her help. It was quite possible that he would be dead if it hadn't been for Molly's help. "Thanks." It did appear that lunch had been a good idea. "Where do you want to go?" Sherlock asked, unsure of what places actually did good lunches. Angelo would always be happy to give them a free meal. That was the only place that Sherlock ever actually went to for food, even if most of the time he didn't eat.

Molly thought for a moment, thinking of the places she knew that did food. "What about Angelo's?" she suggested. "That's where I go most of the time." she honestly did; she didn't often go anywhere majorly fancy unless it was a date, which Molly rarely had any of, but that didn't bother her so much. She wondered if Sherlock went anywhere out, but that thought was a little strange. He wasn't the type to eat, really, only on a few occasions, Molly figured.

"What about Angelo's?" Sherlock nodded, that was the only place he ever went. "That's where I go most of the time." "That sounds fine. I know Angelo." Sherlock said, putting the last of his work away, making sure that everything was back where it was supposed to be. Although his flat wasn't exactly neat, Sherlock did understand that somethings needed to be neat, especially when it came to chemicles and experiments. "Should we leave now?" He asked.

"That sounds fine. I know Angelo."
Well, at least he knew what she was talking about.
"Should we leave now?"
"I have to pick something up at home first, why don't I meet you at Angelo's when I'm done?" Molly suggested with a light smile.

"I have to pick something up at home first, why don't I meet you at Angelo's when I'm done?" Sherlock gave a nod. "I'll meet you in half an hour, then?" Sherlock checked, looking over to Molly. It wouldn't take too long for Sherlock to get ther, but based on where Moly lived, the traffic and how direct cabbies where, Sherlock guessed that this was probably the necassary time needed for such things.

"I'll meet you in half an hour then?"
"Sounds good." Molly said.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Something was wrong. Molly stepped into her house and gasped. Things were scattered everywhere. She began to search frantically, what was missing, what was missing.... Her grandma's locket. Oh no. She tried to stay calm, relieved that she didn't have to meet Sherlock for at least another 25 minutes. She got the thing she had needed, then paused. Sherlock was a detective, he could help her, right? She flipped out her phone, and dialled Sherlock's number, putting the phone up to her ear and listening.
