"Sweetie, you don't have to. You deserve everything I'm giving you and more." Amy shook her head, slightly, and blushed. "You earn what you deserve. I haven't earned any of this. I get money for my..." Amy stuttered the last bit out, realising that yet again she was coming close to letting her work go. "work with Mummy and stuff. Making things out of rubbish. She said, even though her Mother was dead, she did use that as an excuse when she almost gave her job away. The homeless network were meant to be secret.
"Well, no, but there is going to be a screening of the episode I'm sure I'll be able to get you a ticket for. You'll be next to me the whole time." Amy's eyes sparkled with delight at this news and she jumped up and down in excitment. "Really? Thank you!" She beamed. This sounded like it would be great fun. "Nah, I've never seen the appeal of it all. I like my flat here, so why move? To show off? No thanks. I'd rather just help you. And, you know, go shopping." Amy smiled, loads of women seemed to enjoy shopping. personally, she never saw the appeal of it.
"No, that's it." Amy nodded, and then, just for good measure, she went and hugged Kaz again. "Thank you again, its so much." Amy said. This was more money than she had ever seen in her life, more than she ever earned in her work as part of the homeless network. Just then, there was a ping and Amy blinked, confused. What did it mean? "Oooh, food's ready!" Amy blinked as she was liften up and put in a dinning room chair, then she laughed with kaz. "You really should have let me help. I don't know how to prepare food, but you could have told me what to do." She said, with a smile on her face.

"You earn what you deserve. I haven't earned any of this. I get money for my... work with Mummy and stuff. Making things out of rubbish." Karen raised an eyebrow. "And she left you to freeze out there?" her voice wasn't rude, but concerned.
"Really? Thank you!" Kaz laughed. "You'll have to come visit me again so I can go buy you that dress and make you the prettiest one at the screening."
"You really should have let me help. I don't know how to prepare food, but you could have told me what to do." Karen leant forwards, acting like she was deep in thought. "Well you could help me with dessert? A... Cake? Maybe?"

"And she left you to freeze out there?" Amy blinked and looked down. "Its really a secret. I can't really tell you, I think." Amy said, then she paused. "Will you promise not to tell anyone. Not a soul. No matter who they are?" Amy said. She really trusted Kaz and she believed that she could trust the older woman with the secret of her work. The knowledge which was so free amoung the homeless and yet so uncommon amoung those of the richer world.
"You'll have to come visit me again so I can go buy you that dress and make you the prettiest one at the screening." Amy looked down and shook her head. "No, you'll be the prettiest there. You'll be absolutely beautiful." Amy declared, giving a grin. She could easily imagine Kaz in a dress, she was already to nice and pretty. "Well you could help me with dessert? A... Cake? Maybe?" Amy nodded. "When the time comes, just tell me what I need to do." Amy said, her face serious. She wanted to help as much as possible.

"Its really a secret. I can't really tell you, I think. Will you promise not to tell anyone. Not a soul. No matter who they are?" Karen frowned, concerned and leaned even more forwards to look Amy in the eyes..
"Of course. I can keep a secret, trust me," and Karen really wasn't going. And nobody was going to get it out of her, either. Besides, she was an actress.
"No, you'll be the prettiest there. You'll be absolutely beautiful."
Karen chuckled and ruffled her hair, "Nobody will be looking at me with you there, just wait and see."
"When the time comes, just tell me what I need to do."
"Will do! But, before we get to dessert; dinner is served!" Karen said, turning to fill a plate with lasagne and put it down in front of Amy, turning to fill her own plate.

"Of course. I can keep a secret, trust me," Amy looked arond the room briefly, before leaning towards Kaz. "I'm part of the Homeless Network. We are the eyes and ears of the city. We look out for anything that's not right, or keep an eye out for criminals and when we get information we report it back." Amy said, giving a smile. "Then we get some money, depending on the information. I had a few unimportant things to report. Nothing really worth anythin', but I was 'oping to get a few coins for it. Don't really matter now." Amy said with a small shrug.
"You really are a lot nicer than him. I know he's the boss and gives us money to keep us fed and well, but he's terrible cold at times." Amy said. Sherlock Holmes, while being a very nice and good person often scared her. Something about his face just worried her. "But he's a good man. Don't get me wrong. You're just a lot better." Amy was slightly nervous about speaking out against Sherlock Holmes, but Kaz had filled her with confidence and she felt like she was safe to speak her mind.
"Nobody will be looking at me with you there, just wait and see." Amy shook her head slightly. "You are the star of the show, everyone should be looking at you." She said. "How many people do you think will be there? How many other actresses and actors will there be?" She asked, wondering how big this show as going to be. As far as she was aware, not many shows got a big public performance with the stars. Then again, she never looked out for these sorts of things, so she couldn't speak.
"Will do! But, before we get to dessert; dinner is served!" Amy's eyes widened in amazement as she saw the large portion of food that Kaz served her. "Its one of those Italien dishes, right?" Amy asked, wondering what it was called. "Some fancy name. What was it again?" She asked, curiously, cutting off a bit, aware that she ahd company and trying to be as delicate and lady like as possible. Taking a bite, she chewed it. "Best food I've had in my life." She declared, her voice truthful. There was never much choice of food, let alone good food, open to her.

"Woah! That is brilliant. As long as it's not too dangerous," Karen gave her a playful, stern look. "Mind if I have a little job for you? Not as dangerous by ten fold. Well, not for you, anyway."
Karen laughed as she talked about Sherlock. "I call him Mr Grumpy Face. That should be our own little code," Karen winked.
"You are the star of the show, everyone should be looking at you. How many people do you think will be there? How many other actresses and actors will there be?"
"Well, actors I'm not sure; about ten? As for people, I'd say around a thousand. Maybe more outside who couldn't get tickets."
"Its one of those Italien dishes, right? Some fancy name. What was it again?"
Karen smiled, "It's called lasagne, dear. And it is pretty good, although, not as good as at a real Italian restaurant but lasagne is lasagne, no matter who or where it was made. Eat up," she laughed as Amy said that it was the best food she had ever tasted. Karen's heart melted.

"Woah! That is brilliant. As long as it's not too dangerous," Amy smiled and shook her head. "Its quite safe. And it gives us money. That's better than nothing. So its worth any risk." Grinning, Amy carefully cut another peice of the food and carefully took a bite and chewed it. "Mind if I have a little job for you? Not as dangerous by ten fold. Well, not for you, anyway." "What's the job?" Amy asked. She had already been paid enough by Kaz to do any job.
"I call him Mr Grumpy Face. That should be our own little code," Amy paused in her consumption of the tasty food and gave a small smile. "On many days he's like that. But I think he's also bored. But he doesn't seem very normal looking, does he? He keeps lookin' everywhere and he's pale." Amy said. "But I shouldn't speak ill of the boss." She said, cutting another section of food to eat. It was really good.
"Well, actors I'm not sure; about ten? As for people, I'd say around a thousand. Maybe more outside who couldn't get tickets." "That's cool. So many people. You must be really famous. Doubt I've heard of the show, though." Amy said, wondering how popular something could get. "It's called lasagne, dear. And it is pretty good, although, not as good as at a real Italian restaurant but lasagne is lasagne, no matter who or where it was made. Eat up," "Thank you." Amy said, finishing off her lasagne.

"What's the job?"
"You wouldn't mind buying me milk every few days, would you? I'll give you the money, of course. I just don't want a repeat of what happened last time I went out for some bloody milk."
Kaz smiled as Amy ate, and when she was done she took the plate and asked, "Seconds?"

Amy thought about that and gave a nod. "I can do that, should be easy. So I pop around every three days, right?" She said, wanting to know the days she needed to be there. "What times? Midday? Sunrise, sunset?" Amy asked. She wasn't very good at the other times. While she could read, she couldn't tell the time from clocks.
"Seconds?" Amy nodded enthusiastically. "Yes please!" She said happily. More food would be good. She had been starving and now she was getting some food.

Out of milk! Again! Why where they always out of milk? Sherlock stood, staring at the kitchen in disgust. He had the tea bags, the water, a working kettle, sugar. Everything but the milk and he couldn't have his tea without the milk. Where was John when he needed him? "John?" The detective declared loudly. "We are out of milk." There was no response to Sherlock's dissapointment and he looked through the house to make sure that John wasn't trying to hide and shirk his responsibilities as a flat mate.
There was only one thing for it, he would have to go ask Karen. After all, Sherlock did know that Mrs Hudson wasn't in. Walking down the stairs, pulling his scarf on, Sherlock exited his flat and quickly walked to where Karen took residence. She was the only one likely to give him any milk. Everyone else hated him for some reason. Probably because they were stupid. Reaching the door, Sherlock scanned it quickly to make sure that everything was in order, then he knocked.

Karen chuckled, and just as she finished piling on more food, someone knocked on her door. She frowned softly in the direction of the sound, wondering who it could be. Probably John. The detective didn't seem too fond of her, to be honest. But if she really was to be honest, she'd admit that maybe some things she did would irritate him. Probably her constant bubbly attitude. She quickly looked back to Amy, smiling softly.
"I'll go get it. Eat up, sweetie," the actress said, putting down the bowl of food, and running a hand through her hair as she made her way to the door. When she opened it, she couldn't help but be surprised. Her eyebrows quirked up and she leaned against the frame of the door, taking in the sight of Sherlock Holmes in front of 221A.
"Yes?" she asked, now smiling a little smugly at the fact that he obviously needed her - of all people - for some reason.

Amy jumped at the sounds of someone knocking and her eyes fixed on the door as if it might crumble down and a murderer might walk through at any moment. Her whole body froze and remained that way for several seconds before she relaxed, noticing that Kaz didn't seem that worried. She remembered seeing people knocking on doors before and then she completely relaxed. It must mean something. Telling the inside occupants that someone outside wants attention? Amy never had any doors and the boss, Mr Holmes, just told them to come in. She usually called out anyway.
"I'll go get it. Eat up, sweetie," Amy moved back to eating as Kaz went to the door. The food was very good and she was ravenous. It was very kind of Kaz to offer her so much food. Looking up as the door opened, Amy froze once again as she took in a familar site. It was the boss, Mr Holmes, standing pale face and cold eyed. Placing down her cutlery and wipping her face with her hand before licking it, she slowly walked forward to give her small bits of news. "There is a student who has taken to robbing purses in Trafalga Square, no sign of any of those on the list, suspicous activity is very low at the moment although there have been more sightings of that black government car." Amy said, trying to keep her strong cockney accent down to a minimum as she gave her report.

The door opened and Karen stood before him, clearly eating a meal. How mundane. "Yes?" Sherlock regarded her for a few seconds, decided that she had company, glanced around and noticed that one of the Homless network was hanging around. The one known as Amy, Sherlock knew every one of the Homeless network. "I need milk." The detective stated, then he paused and thought. Maybe he should ask politely, he really did need the milk. "If you have any." He could tell that she had used a white source in whatever she had cooked up, so milk probably wasn't here either. What was one to do?
Then Amy came forward. "There is a student who has taken to robbing purses in Trafalga Square, no sign of any of those on the list, suspicous activity is very low at the moment although there have been more sightings of that black government car." Sherlock listened, patiently, then tossed a 50p coin over to Amy. The information wasn't much, but he would still reward his eyes and ears. Besides, he did know that there was a possibility of increased Mycroft activities. "Thank you, Amy. I see you've made a new friend." The detective coldly said.

Before the detective could answer, Amy spoke up. Karen turned slightly, watching the little girl as she spoke like a detective herself. She was so little. And she was doing a job suited for someone more than twice her age. Karen couldn't say she particularly liked this brand of work for a kid, but it had kept her alive. Karen shuddered to think what would have happened to Amy if Sherlock didn't help her every now and then.
Sherlock tossed over a 50p and Karen turned to face him again. "Thank you, Amy. I see you've made a new friend."
"Yes," Kaz said/spat, her tone acidic. "I found her outside, starving and freezing." Her Scottish accent was particularly prominent, as it always was when she was scolding someone. Which she was clearly doing. "Just outside our front door, Sherlock. And you were clearly home, otherwise you would have just bought milk while you were out instead of just asking for some. So why, why couldn't you have just given her a bloody blanket!? At least! And a piece of dry bread, if you're so self-"
Karen cut herself off, realising what she was doing. She was being irrational. Sherlock had probably saved this child's life with his little fees more than once.
"I'm sorry," she said, shaking her head as if to clear it, a small smile escaping her pink lips. "You gave her a paying job, I shouldn't be cross." She gave him her best apologetic smile. "I, uhm, also don't have milk. We were going to bake cake now so we need it anyway..."
She stepped aside, gesturing for him to come in. "Want to come in? I still have enough left for tea, if you want some. I kind of need to apologise for ranting just now. And talking your ears off."

Amy caught the 50p easily and pocketed it. The detective was being unusually kind. Usually her information would only get her a 20p in this sort of situation. "Thank you sir!" Amy said, graciously. It was rather kind of him. The girl continued to stand, then, as Kaz started to rant at the detective. "Yes,I found her outside, starving and freezing. Just outside our front door, Sherlock. And you were clearly home, otherwise you would have just bought milk while you were out instead of just asking for some. So why, why couldn't you have just given her a bloody blanket!? At least! And a piece of dry bread, of you're so self-" "He's good, Kaz, he's a good gov'ner!" Amy protested. Without him she would probably be a lot hungrier or stuck in one of those places for the deprived people. Or worse. Neither of those options appealed to Amy.
"I'm sorry, You gave her a paying job, I shouldn't be cross. I, uhm, also don't have milk. We were going to bake cake now so we need it anyway..." Amy looked nervous for a few seconds, she didn't know how she should act around her boss if he was eating diner with her and Kaz. It would be rather weird. The girl shifted from foot to foot for a few seconds more and then tried to relax. Everything would be good. Kaz would make sure of that. "Want to come in? I still have enough left for tea, if you want some. I kind of need to apologise for ranting just now. And talking your ears off." Amy smiled and looked between the two adults.
